5 Tips for Making the Most of Your Summer

1. Read Your Bible.
It is easy to say one is too busy to read his or her Bible during the school year. During the summer, those excuses don’t exist! Get in the habit of reading your bible everyday. Find a bible reading plan online or grab a devotional in the Cave.
2. Don’t Be Glued To Your Screens
Text messages, Instagram, Snapchat, NETFLIX can be really fun things. However, they can also consume us to where we are serving them. I encourage you to let the summer be a time when you have a technological detox. Use your phones, watch some shows, text your friends, but make sure you have time each day that you unplug and spend time with God and family.
3. Stay Connected
Be involved in our student ministry. Summer fun nights, Sunday School, church, Camp, Bible studies, etc. See above.
4. Read (at least) One Book to Help You Grow Spiritually
Here are some recommendations. Want to know the Bible Better? God’s Big Picture by Vaughn Roberts
What to learn how to be more productive? Live Smart by Dan Dumas
Want to make a difference in the world? Do Hard Things by Alex and Bret Harris

5. Make Lists
Make a list of the spiritual goals you have for the summer. It is amazing how helpful it can be to write out what you want God to do in your life.
